Status of Recovery

October 2026 update.

From the outside our church looks like we have completed the rebuild from the destruction caused by hurricane Michael in 2018. It is not finished. God completed the sanctuary side of the building (6200 square feet) and all the outside perimeter in 2022. In September 2026 the Lord blessed us with restoration of the fellowship hall (1600 square feet).  

The east wing that connects the sanctuary to the fellowship hall consist of 2600 square foot first floor and 2600 square foot second floor. The first floor has the kitchen, bathrooms, laundry room, pantry and two rooms. The second floor has a couple of storage rooms and the rest is class rooms (currently not used).

The biggest problem with the kitchen is that all the electrical system needs to be updated. The second problem is that it has no HVAC. Third, the kitchen is in need of an overhaul in design. Part of the kitchen is very cramped. Fourth, we need a second electric stove added. Fifth, the ice maker needs to be relocated closer to the fellowship hall instead of next to the stove.

The stairs for second floor access are to steep per code. Going down them is hazardous. Several people have tumbled down them. It is related to how steep they are. The stair case is also in the middle of a traffic space. Basically a four foot wide hall wraps all the way around the stairs creating a bad traffic design to get to the kitchen, fellowship hall, bathrooms, pantry and etc.

So our next project is to gut and rebuild the kitchen, build a new stair case off the main hall and demo the existing stairs to turn that area into a little lobby. This renovation is about 1000 square feet. We have a starting goal of $90,000. It is a rough estimate. Once we have the design finished then we can get an actual estimate.

So we ask you to pray that God will provide as He has done so far. We are excited about the ministry we will get to do once completed. Beyond the kitchen and stairs is the bathrooms, 1st floor HVAC and electrical upgrades and all the second floor. So please keep us in your prayers.

Note: Our building may not be a 100% yet but praise the Lord we are debt free and have all the space we need. As we restore and remodel it open new ministry opportunities.
