The Great News

We have settled with our insurance company. (Thank You LORD!) They have given us all the money that they should. Our contractor is moving forward with rebuilding our church. If all goes well and the Lord wills we could be back in the sanctuary in eight months (January 2021). But please don’t count on that. We didn’t think it would take nineteen months to settle with the insurance company. Now that we have we still don’t know how the Covid-19 virus might cause delays in our rebuilding. So please remember it will be finished at the very moment that God is ready for it to be done.

Rebuild The Main Building

We are moving forward with plans to rebuild the church. We hope that by July 9th the contractor will begin repairing the roof. You might think that is a long way off but we need two weeks to finalize roof plans. A week for the city to review and permit the plans. Five weeks for the trusses to be made and shipped to us. It won’t take 5 weeks to make the trusses but the truss company has a back log. It would be unwise to order the trusses before the city signs off. In the mean time the truss companies back log could shrink or grow.

As far as the rest of the phase 1 rebuilding plans are coming along. The building committee should have exterior plans to review in a couple of weeks. By the time the roof is finish, Lord willing, the contractor will be ready to start on rebuilding the interior.

Modular Office Building

EPCI has the plans. We are waiting for them to sign off on the permit and we will order the building. As for when it will arrive that depends on Vanguards back log when we order. Only the Lord knows if the office building will arrive before the roof repair begins or during.

Did You Notice?

Several time I wrote if the Lord wills and once I wrote only the Lord knows. That is because all of this is out of our hands. Yes there a few decisions the building committee will have to make but all the work is being done by others.

James 4:13-15 (NKJV) 13 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; 14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. 15 Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.”

We didn’t know -

  1. The Insurance company estimate would be so wrong.
  2. That we would need a building consultant and forensic engineer.
  3. That even with all the information it would still take months for the insurance company to approve.
  4. That Covid-19 would slow everything down.

We don’t know what will happen tomorrow. So if the Lord wills we will rebuild. It is for His glory anyway.

So, I need you to pray for the following:

  1. God gives Pastor Jessie wisdom in rebuilding.
  2. God gives the building Committee wisdom so that they continue to work together as they have for God’s glory.
  3. God protects Callaway church from those that would try and take advantage of us as we rebuild.
  4. God give Cosco, our contractor, wisdom in picking the right subs and insight in the best cost effective ways to rebuild.
  5. God so controls the rebuilding that when it is over and we look back on all this clearly see that it was God that did it.
  6. God so bless us financially during the rebuilding that when we are done we can financially help other churches.
